Experience

Owner, 3E Enterprises, LLC

Houston Texas, November 2010 – Present

Sold, architected, and developed a custom business management system being used by an energy consulting firm. The system is used as an end-to-end customer management solution including customer, supplier, and contract management. The system has been used to negotiate and close over $300 million in energy contracts. Contract management includes a bidding portal and customer energy usage analytics. Client management has said that the system “…provides their firm a unique competitive advantage.” The system is scalable using Heroku’s PaaS services for backend application (Django) hosting with additional infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Service’s IaaS offerings. The frontend of the system is implemented using modern Javascript frameworks (Backbone/Marionette).

Providing ongoing information technology management consultation and support to an energy consulting firm on a contract basis. Work includes extending the firm’s business management system to include deeper integrations with customer, supplier, and utility systems and business processes.

Sold, designed, and built mobile applications for a federated search service. The mobile applications were built on Apple’s iOS platform.

Collaborated with multiple non-profit organizations to further the application of open source software development methodologies as applied to complex, engineered hardware systems.

Senior Engineer, Software Startup

Houston, Texas, August 2015 – January 2016

Early versions were monolithic applications built around Django and hosted on Heroku. Later versions were microservice-based architectures relying on the Docker and Hashicorp ecosystems (Consul, Packer, Terraform, Vault) running Node.js services hosted on Amazon Web Services.

Hired by and reported to the startup’s investor to be a “coding architect” and to implement a technical solution with a small development team. Work required several third-party integrations including the Google AdWords API for ad network services and Twilio for telephony services.
